Des Moines Neighbors currently meets once a month to serve as an information exchange and advocacy forum for neighborhood leaders. The one exception to this will be our July meeting when we will instead meet on the 12th due to the 4th of July holiday. Our meetings are open to the public and are hosted by the Evelyn Davis Center For Working Families. Click here for directions to 801 University Ave Des Moines, IA 50314.
Once a year Des Moines Neighbors elects new officers to serve on their Board of Directors. This year four offices are up for grabs including: Secretary, Treasure, and two at-large board memberships. Additionally, this year our annual meeting will be focused on how neighborhoods and our community as a whole can encourage diversity and inclusion. Come join the conversation and learn from other leaders for the betterment of all.
In June our members elected two new leaders to fill vacancies in our team. Skip Moore will be our chair through June 30th 2019 as he completes the term of our immediate past chair Brandon Paulsen. Clint Sloss will serve as an interim vice chair as we continue our search for leaders who better represent the amazing diversity our great city has to offer. Are you interested in making Des Moines a better community for generations to come? Let us know at our next meeting.
Dues for the 2018/2019 year must be paid before the Annual meeting to vote. Don't forget Des Moines Neighbors' donations and dues are now tax exempt. Dues received after 1 January expire June 30, 2019 and are $20 for neighborhood associations or $15 for individuals. Click here to sign-up for a new membership or renew your existing membership via PayPal, Visa or Mastercard. A receipt will be emailed to you.
