Over 15 years ago, a group of community leaders sought to organize an "umbrella" group for the existing neighborhood associations.  Des Moines Neighbors, a coalition of neighborhood groups in the City of Des Moines, was started and provided a forum for leaders to come together to address problems and find resolutions through discussion and advocacy.

Des Moines Neighbors currently meets once a month (with the exception of April and November/December) to serve as an information exchange, discussion and as a advocay forum for neighborhood leaders.  Our meetings are open to the public.
